Alabama Marble – Rob Webster July 29, 2018 Music by Rob Webster & Mike Terry 9/19/2018

Words carved so neatly, On a blanket, made of stone
Showed the name of my hero, who had died, so all alone
The world still has his music, so the memory lives on
And ‘Alabama Marble’, seems to whisper…..All his songs

There’s times when I have wondered, when there’s, no one else around
In the stillness of the southern night, can you still, hear his sound
The grave holds the memories, for those all left behind
And ‘Alabama Marble’, holds a favorite….. Of mine

Yes, Alabama marble, has become a country shrine
A place where all his fans can go, and see him one more time
If he was here I’m sure he’d say, “It’s a place for me and you”
Ya, that, Alabama Marble, is the least that we could do…

You can still hear his music, unlike him, it never dies
Now he rest down in Montgomery, looking up in to the sky
He reigned, just like, a country king, upon his golden throne
But now ‘Alabama Marble’, has become, his….. Final home

It was quiet, on the special day, when we both, went to see
There wasn’t any screaming crowds, just my wife, and me
I stared into the brightness, All white, and shiny and smooth
Yes, ‘Alabama Marble’, seemed….. A fitting place….. For you

Yes, Alabama marble, has become a country shrine
A place where all his fans can go, and see him one more time
If he was here I’m sure he’d say, “It’s a place for me and you”
Ya, that, Alabama Marble, is the least that we could do…
Yes, Alabama Marble, is the least that we could do
