The Way Things End -
Lyrics by Joyce Jedlicka Copyright © – Music composed by Mike Terry

Too many times you’ve let me down,
And too many times I’ve cried.
Now I’m taking off ‘the world’s biggest fool’ crown,
And setting it aside.

You used to be the only one
I could ever adore,
But now it’s all come undone,
I can’t believe in you anymore.

The memory of how we used to be
Is fading more every day.
Soon we won’t even be able to see
The dreams we let slip away.

I thought your heart was the place
Where my ship of dreams could come ashore,
But now I see in your face,
That’s not true anymore.

I wish we could go back in time,
To have and to hold,
But there’s no more reason or rhyme,
Once love’s fire’s turned cold.

It will never, be the same
As it was, before.
If we each take, half the blame,
Who could ask for more?

I can’t stop loving you,
I just don’t believe in us anymore.
Some dreams don’t come true,
Even when they’re all you were living for.

I feel like I’m walking along the shore,
Picking up broken shells as I go.
I wish things could be as they were before,
More than you’ll ever know.
I guess this is the way things end
